Our first Sped Comm meeting will be Sept 22 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the FTA Office. We will have a sign in and agenda. See you there!

Info Sent to Negotiations Team on 4/29/2025 and E-Board

Items discussed:

- Stipends/Pay: Documents from the ten comparable districts was shared. Those will be given to your team to negotiations to review.

- IEP Meetings: still being held at most sites after hours; we will be pushing back unless we can come to an agreement. We discussed either being compensated for any held outside contract hours or compensated with time (similar to inclement weather) We are not opposed to a formula being used.

- Release Days: Especially with the 5/1 (all sites next year) 6 are not enough. Discussed one a month or even ten days. Elementary RSP caseload requirement should be lowered. 18 was discussed.

We also want to be able to schedule and use the resident sub. If they offer subs an incentive when they take a sped job for release days or pre schedule resident subs. Man…

Discussed the following:

1. Release Time: Please use the days, discussed asking site admin if more time needed

2. Possible Site Visits with SELPA Director: AB Miller, Truman/Southridge/Almeria, Oak Park

3. Almeria: Class sizes, concern regarding high class sizes, under staffed; can class sizes at secondary be hard capped?

4. Enrichment Time will continue

5. Funding for Sped Teachers/Staff; requested to see the cost of contractors vs. certificated hires
