As 2012 begins, we are asking all of our members to vote to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding we signed with the District on November 29, 2011. This agreement will allow the District to place a “soft cap” on our health benefits for three years. They will still fully fund the lower premium, but if you choose to go with the higher premium, you will be responsible to pay the difference.

In exchange, all involved parties will create a benefits committee to explore options in keeping health benefits costs down. Additionally, because of this agreement, we will no longer be at impasse.

Voting will begin on January 19, 2012 and run for two weeks. Your site rep was given the ballots at Rep Council on January 18, 2012.
